From 1930 thru 1951, the GWGA Match Play Champion was determined to be the Georgia Women's State Champion.. Beginning in 1952 and continuing until 2019, the GWGA Stroke Play Champion was determined to be the Georgia Women's State Champion. Both of these events were conducted by the Georgia Women’s Golf Association. The current Georgia Women’s Amateur Championship began in 2020 and is conducted by the Georgia State Golf Association.
